Greetings! To the aliens scattered abroad... Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied by the blood of Jesus Christ. (see 1 Peter 1:1-2).
There is a great deal of popularity in our culture today surrounding UFO’s and “Extra-Terrestrial” contact. I have news this morning, there are indeed many extraterrestrials living on earth today! These creatures do not have any physical features that would enable others to identify them, however, they are indeed alien to this world. They are also described by more familiar terms, including, Christians, Believers, Saints, the Redeemed of the Lord, etc. In short, dear Christian, you are no longer of this earth. You are an extraterrestrial! Our confession is that we are strangers (aliens) on earth. The Heroes of Faith recorded in Hebrews 11 held this powerful confession: they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth (Hebrews 11:13). As strangers we confess that we are citizens of another country. As pilgrims we confess that we are here on a mission. Our country is the New Jerusalem and our mission is to witness to all the world that the heavenly country is for whosoever will receive redemption through the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ!
I fear that we Christians are often too much at home in this strange land and, therefore, we forget the purpose of our pilgrimage. It is not easy to witness for Jesus. I’m certain we will always sense an awkwardness when we testify that Christ is mankind’s only hope of salvation. But the Holy Spirit gives us grace to do so, and we MUST do so. It is not only a vital message, it is an urgent message. We are called to rescue the perishing! Would you join me in praying for special grace to be a bold witness for Jesus!
Jackie and I were blessed to join with our Kalkaska Church in worship this past Sunday. Rev. McInerney preached a powerful message about the identifying marks of true prophets. Please pray for the Kalkaska Church as the seek to be salt and light in their community.
Grace be with you all. Amen (Hebrews 13:25).
In Our Savior’s Service Together!
